Pair of vintage Milo Baughman Style Lounge Chairs

This pair of vintage Milo Baughman-style Parsons lounge chairs are newly reupholstered and restored in a micro-checked Designtex fabric recycled wool blend. 

During the 1930s, a group of students at the Parsons School of Design in Paris, France, created the first example of the Parsons chair for a project that involved trying to design a comfortable chair that could blend in with many types of decor. It quickly became popular among furniture makers, who began duplicating the chair, calling it the Parsons chair in honor of its creators.

Milo Baughman was one of the leading American furniture designers of the 20th Century. He is synonymous with Mid Century "California Modern" style - inspired by the casual, informal lifestyle and characterized by clean lines and versatility. Baughman worked as a designer-for-hire and ran his own shop until 1953, when he began what became a 50-year collaboration with North Carolina furniture maker Thayer Coggin. Together, they redefined furniture design for a new American era, with Milo Baughman designing some of the most popular and commercially successful pieces. Today, Thayer Coggin still manufactures Baughman’s furniture using his original specifications. His designs are still as fresh as they were 70 years ago and still capture the versatility to fit into any room with any type of decor.
