Otis Rug

Description

Persian, Mid-20th Century

A small vintage Persian area rug dating to the mid-20th century, likely woven in western Iran between 1940 and 1960. The design features a central medallion set within a richly ornamented field, framed by layered floral and geometric borders. Saturated tones of deep indigo, brick red, teal, and ivory give the piece both warmth and depth.

Hand-knotted wool pile on a cotton foundation. Wear to the edges and slight irregularities along the borders are consistent with age and use. The pile remains substantial, and the dyes are stable and well preserved.
