A hand-knotted Persian wool rug of tribal origin, woven in northwest Iran around 1880–1920. The design centers on a bold diamond medallion surrounded by stepped geometric motifs and layered borders, rendered in tones of madder red, indigo, ivory, and deep brown.
Originally woven for everyday domestic use, the rug carries a softened surface and areas of wear that reflect its age and history. Subtle variations in tone from natural dyes add depth and warmth, giving the piece a lived-in character while remaining structurally sound and well suited for continued use.
